basses

Ziegenfuss Standard Series:

The Ziegenfuss Standard is really my bass guitar. As a bass player, it was instruments like this that got me into building guitars in the first place. Though I can honestly say this was a design from scratch - though referenced in the lower bout area to the standard Jazz bass, I have since seen some other amazing builders who are doing similar. I believe the original singlecut was done by Fodera in the 80′s with the Anthony Jackson series, but my design is more similar to Cary Nordstrand’s (who builds amazing basses!) Regardless, this is my favorite bass. I have worked through the ins and outs of this guitar to really hit the warm, smooth, full, but present tone I was looking for.

Gigging weight is typically 8 lbs

Custom Traditional Series:

The custom tradition series of basses was designed in respsonse to a perceived void of large bodied basses on the market today - you know something big, firm, and secure that you could just hit on all day long. Being hugely loyal to the original Fender lines, I revisited many of them in the design of this guitar, but cranked it up a little bit with the lower horn, and the 2×2 straight pull headstock. This bass is bright and respsonsive, and currently the only guitar in my repertoire that I offer in a bolt on. I also offer it in a 98% scaled version, which is slightly smaller and more manageable for smaller players.
